Our Programs

Online Academy K-5
The Live Oak School Online Academy (K–5) is a warm, structured online learning community where students build strong skills in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies through engaging lessons and meaningful projects. Classes meet live Monday–Thursday, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM (Central) with daily small-group support and clear routines. After live class, students complete a simple independent asynchronous learning block (typically 30–60 minutes, flexible) for practice, reading, writing, and project work—so families get both real-time teaching and the freedom of a manageable at-home schedule. Fridays are flexible for catch-up, enrichment, and optional office hours or conferences.

Acorns (K-2)
Acorns (grades K–2) is a warm, structured start where young learners build strong foundations in phonics-based reading, early writing, and number sense through joyful, hands-on learning. Lessons are short and engaging, supported by predictable routines, guided practice, and movement breaks that help children stay focused and confident. Along the way, students explore science and the world around them through simple investigations and real-life connections—growing curiosity, independence, and a true love of learning.

The Mighty Oaks (3-5)
Mighty Oaks (Grades 3–5) is The Live Oak School’s upper elementary program, designed to build strong scholars and confident, independent learners. Students deepen core skills through daily literacy and math instruction—growing reading comprehension, vocabulary, clear writing, and multi-step problem solving through consistent routines and explicit teaching. They then apply those skills through engaging, project-based learning in science and social studies, where they investigate real questions, practice research skills, collaborate with peers, and create meaningful work to share with an audience.
As students “grow their branches,” Mighty Oaks emphasizes responsibility and academic ownership: learning to manage assignments, revise their writing, explain their thinking, and reflect on progress. With a balance of live instruction, guided practice, and independent work time, learners develop the habits they need for long-term success—curiosity, perseverance, and pride in high-quality work.
